Pricing Terms
Access Fee: A fee paid once every rolling 12 months that provides access to the online listing system. Once access is provided, landlords can create listings and upload photos.
Top Ads: Increase listing visibility by featuring properties in the Top Ads section of the housing search page. Top Ads appear above general listings and rotate throughout the page, helping properties stand out to students searching for off-campus housing.
Top Ad availability is limited, and listings must remain active to appear in the Top Ads section.
Ad Boost: Moves active listings to the top of search results to increase visibility and help more students discover available properties. Boosted listings remain above other listings until a new listing is added or another property is boosted.

Ad Content Rules
All listings must:
- Comply with the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Accurately represent the property, including location, rent amount and photos
- Follow all applicable provincial and federal advertising laws
- Follow appropriate online communication standards
Examples of prohibited content include discriminatory language, misleading property information or using alcohol as a rental incentive.
Payment Information
Landlord listings will not be activated until payment has been received.
Payment Options
Online: Visa or Mastercard
In Person: By appointment at the Off-Campus Housing office. Payments accepted include Visa, Mastercard, Interac and cash Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Student Listings
Full-time Western students who have paid the Off-Campus Housing Ancillary Fee may create one free listing in one of the following categories:
- Apartment to Share
- House to Share
- Sublets
Students must provide their Western student number, use their Western email address and place the listing under their own name. Verification and activation may take up to two business days.
Students who have not paid the Off-Campus Housing Ancillary Fee may still post listings by reviewing the applicable pricing and payment options.
